WARNING: C-TPAT SUSPENSIONS FOR US-BOUND TRAILERS WITHOUT SECURITY SEALS

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) reports that US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is suspending Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) carriers for not having a certified seal on a trailer entering the US (a condition of C-TPAT membership). It would appear that there also has been an increase in the number of carriers experiencing C-TPAT suspensions...

SMARTDRIVER TRAINING SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES FUEL USAGE

Statistics for SmartDriver course graduates show that drivers with training can chalk up impressive fuel savings: 9 percent savings on the amount of fuel used and 25 percent less idling time (exact results vary, but savings are constant). LCV DRIVER TRAINING & PDIC DRIVER TRAINING

Alberta and Saskatchewan governments require drivers of Longer Combination Vehicles (LCV) to be trained and certified to operate LCVs. And that training must comply with the Canadian Trucking Association course. To date Manitoba does not require certification but discussions are underway that indicate Manitoba too may soon require such certification...
