2009 Draw Dinner Tickets Now on Sale
The 27th annual Draws will be held this Spring in Edmonton
and Calgary. The Calgary Draw will feature the comedian
Billy Bob Joe Taylor and will be held on Thursday
March 19, 2009. Edmonton's Draw will follow on April 2nd and
will feature the comedian Tim Nutt.
The 2009 Draws will feature good food, entertainment and a
computerized draw to determine winners of a variety of sponsored

Ergonomics and Injury Prevention Course January 29, 2009

employees working with discomfort, the AMTA can help! Our new
course on Ergonomics and Injury Prevention has
been designed specifically for the transportation industry and
addresses topics such as Factors Impacting Health &
Performance, Posture as a Risk Factor for Injury and

Conference Committee selects Bob MacDonald to Speak
Host
of CBC's Quirks & Quarks, Bob McDonald has been communicating
science internationally through television, radio, print and
live presentations for more than 30 years. Currently, he
is the host of CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks, the award-winning
science program heard by a national audience in Canada of nearly
500,000 people. He is constantly in demand to speak for a
variety of audiences across Canada, and is best known for making
complex issues accessible to the general public.
The AMTA Conference will be held
April 17-18, 2009 at the Rimrock Hotel in Banff.

RCMP Project Kare - High Risk Missing
Persons
Project
Kare, a Joint Forces Operational
unit within the RCMP, investigates the homicides of
“High Rick Persons” or the disappearance of persons.
They have requested Industry assistance in determining
the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Rene
Lynn Gunning and Krysle Ann Knott or
any information about their current whereabouts.
Their investigation has shown that these two young girls were
hitchhiking and may have had contact with trucking
personnel that frequent Alberta and British Columbia.
