8/30/07
Diesel fuel prices have remained fairly consistent over the last few weeks, with the highest on-highway diesel fuel prices averaging $2.965 on the West Coast (and $2.986 in California, specifically). The average diesel fuel price across the U.S. for the week of August 27 was $2.863, about 16 cents lower than the diesel fuel price was one year ago for the same week. Also for the week of August 27 this year, the lowest diesel fuel prices by region were reported in the Lower Atlantic, where the average per-gallon price was $2.80. The Gulf Coast was a very close second, averaging at $2.808.

In other areas, diesel fuel prices were as follows:  New England, $2.906; Central Atlantic, $2.898; Midwest, $2.8709, and the Rocky Mountain Region, $2.947.
